Andreas Wiig
Norway has offered snowboarding some of its greatest treasures and Andreas Wiig can be counted among them. Hailing from Oslo it’s tough to say which will captivate you more, his smooth and powerful riding style or his characteristically Scandinavian good looks. When he’s not hitting up giant booters in the backcountry, Andreas is quietly killing it at key contests throughout the winter. Last season Andreas, or “Mandreas”, proved he was the rider to beat on the slopestyle scene. At six feet tall he often towers over his competition, literally and figuratively. So far this winter he’s already repeated several of his ’07 victories, taking first at the Honda Session, Vans Tahoe Cup and X-Games slopestyle competitions.
The 27-year-old Andreas has found a good groove to the life of a pro rider. He spends winters traveling between Tahoe, Mammoth, Canada, and his former European stomping grounds. Currently residing in Newport Beach, California he can often be found surfing when he’s not chasing snow storms or working closely with the Mack Dawg video crew. If you could have one superpower, what would it be? Teleporting. I’m sick of hanging out at airports.
What’s the last lie you told? That I was going to finish this bio like a week ago.
Do you have any phobias? Not that I know of.
What’s the funniest or most ridiculous rumor you’ve ever heard or read about yourself? That I’m a Viking Destroyer!

If you could do one thing to change the world right now, what would it be? Crack down on corruption.
What’s the last book you read? “Herion Diaries” about Nikki Sixx and “How Buffet (Warren) does it” by James Pardoe. Two very different books I have to say.
What’s the most embarrassing thing that’s ever happened to you? Last new years at this fancy party I fell down a whole stairway right after midnight. Way to start of the new year.
What’s a TV show you watch that’s embarrassing to admit to? Spungebob Squarepants.
Favorite place to travel? Bali.
Worst travel experience ever? Beeing food poisoned in Bali. It’s a 100 degrees everywhere and you don’t know where to go.
Worst advice anyone’s ever given you? I was advised to ride for this board company some years ago that lasted for about two years. Great advice.
Stupidest thing you ever wasted your money on? Phone bills? I guess not anymore hehe. I bought this huge projector TV some years ago that was so out of date the next week. Was barely able to sell the thing.
Who do you call/text the most on your Boost phone? My girlfriend, my agent and my family in Norway.

Where are you from and where do you live now? I’m from Norway, but I live in the States most of the year. Kind of have a base in LA, but mostly just living life on the road.
Before this career, what did you want to be when you grew up? A physical theraphist or something else that had to do with sports.
What do you want to do after? Take a couple of years off and then start my own distribution company.
