Q & A With Hip-Hop Producer Cool (of Cool & Dre)
You guys are everywhere. If you are not rapping on someone else’s track, you are producing it or both. Who are you working with right now?
We are working with a lot of people. First of all, Lil Wayne on the new album. Busta Rhymes on the new album. We just did his first single. We did Birdman’s new single featuring the world on it. Mariah Carey. Two records on Usher’s new album. Gym Class Heroes.
You guys are just as busy as JD it seems. And we know he is always on his grind.
Yep. We are getting it right now. We are trying to get it. You know, we got the brown paper bag with the band around it…
So, what’s up with your solo album?
It’s all good. I am starting on it next year. Right now, I am just in producer mode.
So, it’s still coming, its not eighty-sixed or anything, right?
Oh no! Yeah, I am looking to drop it next year.
Who do you want to work with that you haven’t?
We have not worked with D’Angelo. That’s who I am looking for. I am on a mission to find him. That’s my main mission right now! We want to bring that good soul music back.
