Vegetable: Matt Gordon Solo Exhibition

RVCA’s Artist Network Program, along with help from the boosted artist content collaboration, opened its headquarters to host a solo exhibition for artist Matt Gordon named “Vegetable.” His paintings are good for you!

Matt is able to empty his fantastically twisted mind on the canvas with a skillful hand, filling his paintings with unique symbolic storylines. The paintings and drawings are amazingly detailed and bizarre, each character of his re-curring cast has a complex and intriguing story to tell. Unfolding the puzzle-like narrative is an interesting joy, leading to dropped jaws and giggles of epiphany. Along with the top-notch visual entertainment, everyone’s ears got some candy too. Smoke machines were fired up and a Michael Jackson impersonator warmed up the stage with some private parts grabbing and the moonwalk. It went from lip-sync to a fat-lip, when Pharcyde’s Fatlip stepped on stage to tell everyone about peg-leg kickstands and how fat their mommas are. Heads bopped, hands were raised and the levels went to eleven.
